On The Final Trail, Into Beyond Understanding I
In this, be ye true...
In all honesty, to Self
Where me, in 'I', lives.
Now, in his own elder years
The Wanderer came to the top of Eagle’s Beak.
There, not really surprised
He found the Antlered Man and Laughing Master
Waiting.. for him
Or just chance?
One never knew with either of these two.
Both smiling, they rose from where they were seated.
The Antlered Man only nodded as he walked by
Gently touching his own heart with his right hand
And then pressing it softly to my own heart place…
I could feel the Wild’s of Nature suddenly stirring, vibrant, alive
Free, myriads of dancers readying themselves
For twilight meetings in Moonlight’s abandonment.
I well remembered
Keeping them all safe.
‘They know your Spirit is with them’, he said
‘This next night is for you.’
He looked deep into my eyes, my heart responding
‘Know you are forever attached, as you so wish.
‘I know you to be true’, he added, smiling
‘We will meet again’.
As he passed, he finished by saying
‘Remember this Place, It did your journey well
See you again in the Other’.
Then, He was gone
I could feel his presence leave.
Of course, the Laughing Master chuckled.
He too walked over, then stopping...
Looked deeply too, into my eyes
‘I must admit’, he said, ‘It wasn’t all funny now, was it’.
‘No’, I said, ‘Though at times it was...
Sometimes, even hilarious
But always? Never that.’
‘Such are the journeys of we men’, he nodded
‘Remember well our Times
For the Chunks they are…
So many made for dancing.
Hmm, might have been the most important lesson…
Freeing you from many sad places.
For sure, allowing you to see many Gates
So many missed in the past.
Going to be interesting to see what you do with all this.’
He reached up then and with his index finger
Gently touched my forehead
‘Ah, nothing’, he said, chuckling more.
‘What dreams are things...
Then he too walked away.
‘See you later Crocodile’ he said loudly
And laughed, as he disappeared.
‘After a while Alligator’
I replied, smiling...
Sometimes... the thought came suddenly to me
Just shared smiling, can be so comforting.
Then walking over to the overlooking ledge
I too, did loudly laugh...
And like so many before me
Leapt off into Nothing...
To meet my expecting ‘I’.
