Not Afraid
Not afraid...
Not afraid to be different,
And, I will tell you exactly why…
Not scared to say the true sentiment,
Even, if it, will make us both cry…
Not afraid of being brutal,
Or afraid of being totally raw…
Soft words and pleads have proven futile,
Pain just cuts like a saw…
Not afraid to not be popular,
Or scared how people will see me…
Won’t cover the truth with sugar,
Never claimed to be a lady…
I’m not afraid to say you,
Or to stand up for my principles…
Not afraid to show my truth,
Or demand a love that’s simple…
I’m not afraid to be alone,
Because, love isn’t what I need…
I would rather be a celibate; home,
At least there, I have some peace…
I’m not afraid to say goodbye,
Not afraid to tell the whole truth…
How I see them, through my eyes,
And, then, forever, say goodbye.
