Modern ideas

I'm itchy, like I need to run outside More unrest than an itch I need enveloping in balm Although that seems a bit final Balm lite - a hug that has ions Although I feel so contained Balm might suffocate Ahh a poltice - one of those Draw out the unrest... Ooh maybe an exorcism No, not an exorcism Maybe I'll have a gherkin and mustard I feel that combo has ancient healing power (I'll just delete a couple of sentences here that were hilarious) I'll dance, eat things with mustard on and let the wind blow my hair for a few minutes I do think this may be how women got themselves burnt as witches in the past... I wonder if they stuck flammable balm on them first and they were like 'yeah that helps, thanks' just for it all to pan out badly Writing this was nicely distracting I need to tick the 'modern poetry' box Just so people know where I'm going with it Luckily not a paper submission as the mustard fingerprints might suggest there are concerns It's funny that whole concept Tell the wrong person something and your world could go up in flames Keep it to your crowd and you can laugh the night away with gherkin jokes wondering if you're crying because it's so funny or you've got mustard in your eye again I'll leave that here I'm fine by the way Honest

another fun and delightful read. I loved your saying that eating mustard is what got witches burned. Priceless. Your poetic humor is astounding. Have a great day, Sara

Haha thanks Sara - flippant antics maybe more than the actual mustard eating. But who knows, maybe I hit on a truth. Thank you for your comment x

Mustard on a gherkin? I never! I know a few gherkin jokes but they aren't suitable for mixed company. LOL I enjoyed this fun poem, DD. Nice to see your fun side.

Thanks Danny - I appreciate you stepping in early with a comment so I don't decide to hide my weird away - yeah gherkin jokes are niche really, mine was definitely hilarious and barely rude because it was cryptic - but I'm all about protecting the eyes of the innocent. :) I'm trying to remember if I had a fun side when you were last here - surely I did?! Must have done - even the depths of despair don't stop me pausing to crack a joke :)
