Gulag
the ghost mind is a curious space
a gulag held in wire
haunted huntress, somber sky
coldest winter sun defy
Cossack, Hessian shadow churn
maze of madness, memory burn
strung from stars furnace spent
eye of ochre deep lament
the ghost mind is a curious place
a world seized by fire
bitter serpent wrap the sea
consume my dark mythology
and twist the earth with rage and thunder
gripping spine dark Jör-mun-gandr
blackest coal, listless rise
unhurried night un-compromise
the ghost mind is a curious space
a gulag serpent dream
beyond the edge to flick and creep
into nightmare, endless sleep
earlobe touch, a secret lock
a battered ship, a broken dock
frenzied ram breath of ice
iconoclastic sacrifice
the ghost mind is a curious space
a gulag held in wire
should ever mouth and tail descend
and chasm hell on earth offend
to open godless martyr mind
broken whisper shores unwind
then break the seal, raise the priest
crack the sky from west to east
burn my body ash and bone
my shattered soul I shall atone
* Jörmungandr (your – mun-gander): Midgard Serpent (also World Serpent) in Norse mythology who encircles the realm of Midgard; the serpent grew to such an enormous size that he encircled the world – which was envisioned as a flat disc - and held his tail in his mouth.
