We were getting old, our minds still quite sound Just one more move before we’re glory bound We made the decision to look around For a unique place to build underground It was harder than we thought it would be To find just the place for Sara and me We wanted a place where we could feel free A place close to nature for walks you see A place in the country that had a pond Just a short walk to the woods just beyond To see nature’s beauty, a deer and fawn To watch the sunrise each morning at dawn A quiet place to write, we have surely found We will build our cozy home, underground

Don't know if this one is based on fact/s or just a work related to seeing an underground home, but if true, I hope it works out just right for you. I would be concerned about moisture problems. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K

How beautiful is that, and so peaceful too, sometimes i long to move to a place faraway from the busy life, and the picture kind of shows exactly where you and sara would love to be together in love in serenity away from all the noise. So gorgeous and sweet my favorite couple. I hope this place would have access to internet. Need you both to be here on soup haha. I love the rhyme and cadence of this poem and how descriptive it is. Nature definitely has a way of healing us all. A fave this is

Just dreaming, Inky. We'd have to have internet, or it would be a "no go"! Thanks for the FAV for this poem, my dear friend. Have a pleasant week! Bill Light to you always.

This reflective sonnet captures the sentiment of seeking solace and simplicity in the later years of life. It explores the journey of aging and the desire for a tranquil and harmonious existence. The opening lines convey a sense of resolve and determination as they embark on their quest for a new home. The use of rhyme and rhythm lends a sense of momentum to the narrative, drawing the reader into the couple's journey.

We do long for serenity and time in nature, Silent One. Just a dream right now, but we never know what's around the corner in life. Thanks for the visit and comments on my poetry. It's always good to hear from you, my dear friend. Bill

Well written sonnet. I presume for things like amenities its quite a task especially when you think of the complexity incorporating them in such a structure. I presume of course maybe am wrong. enjoyed the poem!

Not wrong, Marugu, very right. It takes a lot of time and money to manifest an underground home with all the amenities most of us would like in a dream home. This is just a poem about a dream home in nature. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

I didn't realize we were moving! This cave, this place underground, sounds tranquil and perfect. I'm ready. Want me to call the movers? :-)

The little bears said they are up for this move. The woods is their friend. (A dream home ideal, not real yet). Thanks for being on board with it though. :-) Sugar Bear

You'd always be welcome, Deb. It could take a while to manifest though ($2.9 million) in the most secure and luxurious form. It's beautiful inside with the water falls and bathing pool. It would be like living inside of a hundred's year-old oak tree. Talk about being one with nature! Okay, time to cool my jets. Have a pleasant weekend, my dear friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

If that it your place, it is beautiful. If only a dream or wish, then you have a lovely model to emulate or improve upon. The shapes are reminiscent of the Sidney Opera House! Timeless!

Thanks for the visit and comments, Duke. (Dream home, not a reality yet). We like the ideal of least intrusive to the natural surroundings and secure, safe, domicile underground. The more comforts, the more $'s. It can get very expensive to make it ultra secure. (Vault like). Have a pleasant evening, my friend. Bill

A fabulous poem, Bill. Innovation is in style. Just be certain that you install a door before the bear hibernation months.

Vault door 20 feet into the entry way. No one enters without our permission. (Dream home, not a reality yet) Thanks for the comment, my friend. Have a pleasant evening! Bill
