Discarded apple core
You say you are just raw
Which is why you have nothing to say
But for me it’s just another indication
Of neglect of me today
I think I’m pretty valuable
I think I have things to offer
I think I’m extremely malleable
So I don’t get what’s in your coffer
Am I really so unworthy
Unworthy of true love
Will I be always thrown to the tatters
The tatters of your buff
I love you, I do love you
But know this is my waste
I’m wasting all this joy on you
Because you brush past without haste
What happens to people
That they really don’t see your worth
They discard you like an apple core
Treat you with such mirth
I know I’m very lovely
I know I can love well
But now I’m not coming out
Of this cosy, comfortable shell
