Disappointment
A shadow lurks 'neath gilded sun,
Unseen, yet ever near.
When hopes are high and paths unfold,
It screams within our ear.
With visions vast as boundless sky,
And hopes like flames aglow,
It silently creeps with wistful sigh,
And beguiles us in our woe.
Yet through its veil of somber gray,
A hidden light doth dimly gleam,
For its dark visit will not convey,
The strength to chase our dream.
