A poem about internet trolls and how they will do and say anything for attention. EDIT: it's come to my attention that some people have seen themselves in this satirical poem and taken offence. I'm not sure if it was the note saying some people do anything to get attention or the other line. Regardless, I would like to issue an apology and confirm this is merely about internet trolls written in the jovial style of a limerick. Anyone not an internet troll can keep on trucking (not trolling).

Pigtail pullers and bottom pinchers Give them a mile and they're still one inchers Sit under bridges tickling own fancy Identified by trolly trail (ichnomancy) *Also fail on delivery of argument clinchers

Hi Mo :) I'm as shocked as you are that the reaction to this exposè on the insecurities of the typical troll was a campaign to be named as the inspiration. However, I've been a good girl and apologised.

Thanks Tania, the form is a bit off but the world seems particularly full of pigtail pullers. Unfortunately it isn't harmless in the adult world and particularly online those who will step on and target people to get attention for themselves can cause a lot of harm. It feels like being in the limelight is addictive to them. It's why I keep myself to myself but unfortunately they find routes to get at people. Thanks for your comment.

Dear DD, Im not very good with limericks, but i see you are good at these too, i see your sense of humor here, this reminds me of highschool, and how some back benchers are back then, i was in between, quite a rebel then, lol i really love " pigtail pullers" that second line made me laugh! " trolly trail " and that word in the brackets are new! I have to google the word. Your vocabulary here is brilliant! I just wrote few days ago on another platform for a prompt called bully! Seeing so many videos and movies on the subject i think its important to raise awareness! Do have a look at this new british series on netflix called " adolescence" what bullying triggered! Its so heart wrenching! About a 13 year old boy! And how he turned into something he wasnt cus of getting bullied! Anyway! Pleasure reading your poems today! Sending you light always!

Thank you for your kind words Ink. Bullying is awful and I've seen some terrible things. This limerick is of course just a caricature of trolls and a bit of jovial insight into the fact they do anything for attention. Thank you for your kind words x

Big giggles in small packages Jan :) no meanness here. Although there's a catalogue of meanness some think disappears when they delete and edit. Damp squibs still leave stains haha (catchy lol)

You'd win every time, Dilly with words like these, whoa. With so much occurance of late , it's a joy to read your clever humor. Love it! I didn't think of this a limerick, too many syllables in 3rd and fourth stanza, ive seen you do perfect lims .. - Limerick lover :)

It's only a hint of a limerick I know, I was walking the dog and wrote it in a couple of minutes but even I laughed when that second line occurred to me. My rhyme choices were difficult ones to work with and the rhythm is off but I've no inclination to change it. Thanks for your support :)

Thank you Daniel! I was just walking the dog pondering how things sometimes play out online and the type of people who go round looking to cause trouble at any cost. It's definitely always best to not engage with trolls and certainly the best advice I can give.

Thanks for the invite Lin, I consider it not mean but educational. It's all in jest and surely no one would identify themselves when faced with the description of a pigtail puller e.g someone constantly trying to incite non productive confrontation using flawed logic because any attention is better than none. Or the bottom pincher offering a red rose to every lady. No, I think these are outdated stereotypes...
