Cancer

Cancer is only for others, Walking its own quiet road: The smoker’s sigh, The alcoholic’s plight, The old tree, The young, the budding seed— Babies, life’s fragile heartbeat… Medical advancements—progress marching, Cures, new hopes discovered With each sunrise. Everyone wants to know. Everyone needs the truth. The truth is sad. Cancer, a path we think not our own… Is cancer only for others?

Mickey, thank you for being upfront and honest in your poem. A friend of mine said that life is compised of the walking wounded, I see life as filled with overcomers,..alcoholism is…one if the diseases of body, mind and spirit and as per the AMA is considered a disease not a case of moral depravaity. The choice is up to the person. There are multiple sources for rehab. Cancer is not the same, but nobody chooses to have it, Not one of us gets out of life, alive.Pangie.

Thanks you. Honesty with oneself is most important. Like your thoughts on this Cancer subject matter. I was diagnosed twice; surgically scarred, but I'm still here.

So sorry for you having to go through such trials. But, like you said, you are still here and still fighting. Never give up! I will start radiation treatment on May 15th. "Just another brick in the wall"...thanks for stopping by and checking out some of my stuff...much appreciated.
