Broken People Can Take A Hit

Broken People Can Take A Hit

Broken people can take a hit,
that is how they became broken in the first place.
You think im talking about car accidents or slips that lead to
dameged hips.
If you think this then you missed my point
No Im speaking about the pieces that are broken inside of them
A father that did not care,
A mother who did not give you the time of day and was never there.
A sister that hit you when she was drunk.
A brother that kicked you when you were down.
Broken people,
everywhere.
I feel for you even if im not there.
Where have you been?
They ship you around on greyhound buses from town to town in despair you live witha frown.
Lost without any hope sometimes you think of ending it all.
It's so sad you see them in tent cities they truly have my pity.
By now they are so sick no one can put them together again,
They are like puzzle pieces in their minds
And with no medication they just a slow degenarative decline
Sickness is there you can see it in their eyes,
Yes, you call them dumb the beggars
you should be ashamed you think because you made it you are so clever
The losers the ones that hit the ground not realizing they are broken people
Try to understand and perhaps extend a helping hand or at least try to be to them a little kinder
Broken people I have you on my mind my poetry will help you all in due time
