awash

Listen to poem:
lucidity waves wash over until lungs full of vision drown drowning in never evers of forevers without measure of end or tether to solid ground disorientating kaleidoscope images whirl, tricking tunnel vision into the peripheral walking, dreaming, speaking, distraction whilst edges spin with nothing to hang on to one captured second, split into atoms, viewed in thousands of ways until I forget all the ways I drown

Dear DD, I found your well-inked poem and, yes, your reading of it to be very intriguing and evocative. I loved how you explored the themes of disorientation, perception, and the overwhelming nature of consciousness—to the point of drowning. What not to love! Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

I especially love “ drowning in never evers of forevers without measure of end or tether to solid ground” ah! That!! Hits deep! You should do more spoken, i love this! Sending you light

So many ways we metaphorically drown each day Dilly, until we move on to the next distracting second, perhaps an overwhelming event sparked off this thought provoking piece, try keep afloat even if its only atoms you/we are swimming through, cheers David

Thanks David, I had a busy day yesterday and kept thinking of little lines and making a note. Most of them had lost the spark by the time I went back to them but I quite liked lucidity waves drown, so did what I could to pull a poem into being from it. It was quite nice actually as I just sat and let my subconscious drive the lines. It's a repeating theme of course but I'm currently on a mission to buy the perfect trainers that have been accidentally underpriced, so no time for existentialism today haha

There are many ways to drown. I'm drowning in too much television and too much politics. Beware the remote. I like this poem. Alas, no painting.
