Just for clarification, dear reader, there's no state income tax in Texas, and El Paso is where I began my teaching career.

I'm not known for being sentimental, Nostalgia's not really my thing, But each year 'round the middle of April, While I wait for my CPA to ring, As I'm sorting through piles of instructions Re what I can and can't claim as deductions, I know in my heart without failing There'll be plenty of weeping and wailing, And I'll wonder why I ever had to roam. 'cause when "the ides of taxes" are upon me, I'm reminded why I miss my Texas home*. *No state income tax in Texas

Oh, not really all that bad, Line. I've been in Missouri for 15 years, now, and a few years ago I managed to downsize and simplify my finances to the point where I could forego a CPA and just use TurboTax. Much simpler...for me...and cheaper. Thanks for the perusal.

Thanks, Jan. I actually have mine so streamlined these days that I get them done and filed very early...usually in February.
