Anima Without the Other
Action, that's what this life is centered around right?
Pure action, movie role action
It's what we're made to believe, believe to exist
well as the men that we are, the men we grow to be
a success to the family, apart of the military
at least that's what the television has me believing
but forgive me for disobeying the status quo
Can you forgive me for abandoning the Man of Steel role
to write, to feel
cause that's all I believe I was meant to do
it's how I connect, how I know, how I live
Do you think I could embrace attacking foaming dogs
missile launching helicopters, sniping an enemy target square through the neck
wake up, look myself in the mirror
grab the feelings I spare in my chest and explode with emotion
of how much I love living in the schematics of this world
Don't get me wrong, I'M A MAN!
in the strongest defense I could muster, I am a MAN
but in the deepest sense I love the complexities and treasured innocence of Tangled
I nearly cried at the end of the sappiest anime possible
I write to feel something other than anger
I write to feel what I feel to breathe
I write to be what I need to be to live
taking on the lives of characters whether woman or man, infant or beast
to succeed in this revolutionary lifestyle
I'll exclaim to you this: I love Cady Groves, enjoy Sara Bareilles
K.T. Tunstall is my hero, Jordin Sparks a fabled wife
Mother Aphrodite an inspiration
while I, her son Eros, stumble through life seeking her guidance
Nothing short of a mess, I mangled what I've been trying
what we consider to be one aspect is an aspect of another
personal opinion from a personal other
I'm a MAN and in my highest sincerity
I think feminine qualities pursue more than thought, more than feeling
more than sheer emotion
but there's no other way to describe it
since parents derive from it
Our mothers give us aspects of nurture, nature, love, feeling, emotion
what else can I say
before my brain spills a full monologue of who I am
I am who I am, this is what it is
a poem, not a poem
an explanation with no point
Anima without the other?
was that the subject?
I may have got it right, maybe wrong...who knows...
