read my light show I shimmer seemingly switch off disappear reflect me at my best make me beautiful by observation I'm not dead I just break my own heart and it lasts a lifetime could it be sleep can I be woken I'm bedazzled by your transformational lens of being seen ah, see me change what is distance to pull lock eyes with my prismatism I remember... I'm magnetic be close enough to feel it whilst you're here dance with me ~ heal me with attention the pattern of a star is to die we look at this death misunderstand time skip the realisation take me back gift me life insanity is true awareness don't think, feel seek me out from the second the sun sets stay with me til morning redefine my existence move in sequence welcome my rest gaze at me all night long be unwavering until the light goes out together we can immerse into what it's like to be alive ~ after dark ~

Thank you so much for getting involved Lin. You read beautifully and have a lovely voice. It was really fun to hear the poem with different emphasis from each reader. The lovely thing was also how it made me appreciate my own poem by giving it that third person angle. It's something I'd love to be involved in again or reciprocate. Thanks again x

So beautiful and what a most organically pleasing read! Youv read your words so well here and i love the depth of what youv conveyed here and so many lines hit deep for me especially “ i break my own heart “ same! And i love also how youve written “the sun sets stay with me til morning” the longing that emanates through those words is truly soul stirring “ together we can immerse into what it's like to be alive ~ after dark ~” such romance and thoughts so well delivered! Love it for the prompt for sure. Sending you light always

Aww thank you Ink, I loved this poem coming together as it was one I wrote for the contest that didn't work and I reorganised it and felt a sense of achievement. There were lines I didn't want to just leave in drafts, which you've picked out here. Thank you for your support, that light is always uplifting

Di11y, this is something to read several times and think about. How do we relate to each other and correspond to the cycles of existence that we have? I'm particularly aware of how critical timing is for attention given to something or someone. Hope you are well. Smiles!!

Thanks Duke, this was very much a study of loneliness and connection, with perhaps a few others layers of meaning and interpretation depending on the view point. Moments of connection certainly seem to make a lot of other things bearable. I'm good, thank you :)

No two stars are inherently the same Dilly, some even pulsate as if they have a heart, a brilliant metaphorical piece here with beautiful imagery, drawing the reader in with self observation and magnetism, some of the stars we see in the night sky are not even there, died eons ago, I believe our consciousness intrinsically holds this cosmos together, super poem and pondering, cheers David

Oh my, I love the idea of the heartbeat stars! Just looked it up and I've totally romanticised the idea of their companion star <3 I'm aware they already died though - sad times... Or did they?! Thank you for tuning in to my poem and sharing (mostly) fun facts :)

You're so kind Karen :) I wrote this in rhyme yesterday and it wasn't hitting right at all but let it rest overnight and then recycled several bits into this free verse first thing this morning and much prefer this version. It's such a fun prompt :) I don't think I've written for Rose before, so we'll see whether it's to her liking. I enjoyed writing it. Thank you for your faith in the poem, appreciated!
