you can't resist my skin let me fall into my feminity we're all saved there as I morph to delicate sirenesque of the sky you make choices to be there I sail guilt free as you you lure me from my mind want me to change form for you any sense of danger imperceptible orchestrating moments that occupy my dream world indistinguishable from lullabies the noise through the haze partially wakes me but I'm too drawn in too invested what if when... shh... swoop and soar into forevers how gentle and tender is... now averted eyes don't see faces hidden by flowers soothed and peaceful as I'm talked to softly hypnotized state almost steady I wake too soon see the out of place pieces eventually I'll be unresponsive to snapped fingers what if... I open my eyes fall from skies illusion dies denies denies denies that I ever glimpsed through disguise

Dear DD, your dreamy verse enchanted my imagination as your interpreted imagery captured the soul of the painted art with ease. A breathtaking beauty of introspection that stands alone even without the visual of Chagall's piece. Your talent shines! Congratulations for your success in Rob's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Thank you so much Susan for these uplifting words - it's hard to know if my poems require the paintings that prompted them in all instances and it's a delight to hear when someone feels they could stand alone. Much appreciated x

His work is strangely beautiful and your poem not only reflects this but has become it as well. Thank you for supporting my contest.

Thank you for the opportunity to reshare a previous poem Rob. Marc Chagall's painting are ethereally beautiful and I've written about a number of them. Thank you for the placement and your kind words

A hypnotic read Dilly, so I simply went with the flow, and it flows so well too, even through time, or outside of it, very difficult to express such wanton aimlessness in poetry, let alone paint it, another authentic interpretational piece from you, brilliant, cheers David

Thanks David, I was eating the best toastie I've had in a really long time and two pots of tea and wrote this in between pots. It was Earl Grey - so perhaps the bergamot influenced it. The whole week so far as been a bit translucent - so probably found it's way into these words as often happens. Thank you for your kind comment :)

The art is Marc Chagall's - he uses similar imagery in many paintings. It's immersive and leaves you wondering - that's the beauty of it. My words just represent what I thought as I looked at it whilst drinking a pot of tea in a café x

Is it a dream, or reality? I'm confused but note the title. It does make sense. It's upside-down. I see a poem of magnetic attraction.

Haha who knows Hilda! The painting is just beautiful and thought provoking and I just wrote the words that came to mind as I viewed it. Not sure what Marc Chagall necessarily had in mind though - I do find his work strangely beautiful x
