Tiptoes Tapping

Tiptoes tapping on the window pane Arm stretched snug beneath my head Raindrops dripping down the Yukka leaf Steam trails lap from in my mug Sip, sip sipping of the steaming tea Tap, tap, tapping of my toes Drip, drip, dripping on the yukka leaf Gloriously, simple days I chose Though slow days were forced upon my body once But now I choose them out of need The joy from simply sipping tea awhile In the comfort of dripping on the leaves There are times when voices come into my head Of other I know who sometimes scorn Scorn as I live my life with serenity When there’s is rushing and forlorn It seems they forget I paid a price for this A price I think I’d pay again Just chill with me, know it’s ok to breathe Maybe then you’ll see why I lift a pen
