The license to forget

If you could give me Anything I asked for, No, I wouldn’t ask for immortality because that holds no appeal Instead, I would ask For a license to forget. I might choose To forget all the times I saw tears streaming From those eyes of yours. Oh, I might just abuse my gift Of a license to forget. I might choose To forget all the times I ever made you worry With rash acts of mine I will console myself If I had the license to forget. I might choose To forget all the times the world seemed against us Even if it was already fated. I will find solace With my license to forget. I might choose To forget all the times you weren’t smiling. Even if it reduces Memories of you with the license to forget. I might choose To forget all the times you chose wrong. And if I had to forget myself, I would do that, too, With my license to forget.
