Shine Through My Heart

For so long I was lost,
Trapped in this endless pit of darkness.
It took me awhile until I realized
You were standing there, my light.
Shining brightly, you were, ready to inspire.
Push the darkness from my heart.

Please release my blackened heart
tormented by my love lost.
Only you can inspire,
Quel this darkness.
You are my only light.
How had I not realized?

Is it too late, now I've realized?
Do you still hold me in your heart?
Is it there, that beautiful light,
Or are you broken now, too, just as lost?
Have you allowed this darkness
to inspire?

Is it still your love with which you inspire?
Or now have you realized
How the darkness
Can corrupt your heart?
Is it my fault you're lost?
How much dimmer is your light?

No, it's a brighter light!
Have I strengthened your resolve to inspire?
When I was lost
You realized
just how important a strong heart
is when dispersing the darkness.

Gone is my darkness
Overwhelmed by your light.
I let it into my heart,
your will to inspire.
Only then, I realized
How truly I had been lost.

No longer do I let my darkness inspire
I sought your light and realized
with you in my heart, I am not lost.
