Requiem for Summer
She vanishes in golden light -
one last flare before coldest sleep.
Now dew-tears weep among the yews
and autumn mists softly shroud her.
Trees gently lay down wreaths of leaves
and pews of asters sing in blues -
valedictory hymns to her.
