When the bullet hit me in the head
I was on the floor but not quite dead
I could see the Reaper just up ahead
But I turned my back to him instead

Saw you on the floor thru blood and sweat
The image was flat like on a TV set
Playing the show of when we first met
And we weren't running from the law yet

We made love all night and slept all day
Just lost in a world of all fun and play
But soon there were bills we had to pay
Never thought that it would end this way

We robbed a house and killed someone
God how I wish we'd never found that gun
I should have put it back but I was dumb
Asked God for mercy but there was none

That's were it started with that one mistake
Now it ends cause we robbed this bank
No one else I only have myself to thank
And I'm getting sleepy can't stay awake

I can see her now laying across from me
There's so much to say but I can't speak
Reach out my hand and our fingers meet
And as I bleed out, I hear her scream
