Image result for kneeling on beach at night

I kneel 'neath the moon, soft-suffused in its beams, My toes dig through sand, wet and cold as the tide, Nigh midnite's raw wound I beseech to dark dreams, Why heaven's heart, sweet, won't move deep inside? No more do those charms of my faith light my soul, Though here by the shore I can taste Zion's breath, So where has the joy gone that once left me whole? O Calypso come christen your bloom with my death. ~ 1st Place ~ in the "Writing Prompt - Let's Write A Lento" Poetry Contest, Dear Heart, Judge & Sponsor.

Gregory, I know many who would love to know the answer to your elegantly stated questions. My heart cries for one in particular. Once again your golden pen yields a deep and thoughtful message. Blessings my friend ~ John

Beautiful piece, Gregory. Stay near to the shore and breathe. Breathe 'til those lungs fill with enough air to carry you through to the next moment. Stay, for even a glimpse of joy can rekindle what seems a quenched flame. Hold on, my friend... <3
