Joshua got a buzz

Joshua the cat became too fat and so his fur began to mat. He was no longer able to properly preen and dependent on me to keep himself clean. I'd brush him out most every day but couldn't keep those mats away. I wanted the mats to be gone, so I brought Josh to a pet salon. The groomer asked if I wanted a buzz and I said yes, just because...I thought the buzz would be on his back and cover a small insignificant track. When we got home to my surprise, my twelve year old cat I didn't recognize. The groomer had left his face alone but buzzed his body to the bone. His four feet now look like he's wearing muffs, his tail has a tip like a lion's tuft. Samantha the kitten keeps acting neurotic. She's hissing at Joshua, who now looks exotic. My brown tiger cat is now void of fur but in spite of his circumstances still manages to purr!

Joshua got the same treatment my daughter's cat Peepers got once when she was in the Air Force for 4 years, and I had temporary custody. I called Peepers "the cartoon cat" . Boy was she mad! This poem reminded me of that and I thank you!

what a cute story!!! I bet he looks something like that spyhinx cat (spelling?) Anyway, I know how hard it is to deal with skin or fur problems. I had a cat once who always had scabs on his skin. Never did know why!! His fur covered it up though.

Hi Ms. Andrea, I heard from a birdy that you are expecting, so congratulations, most exciting..Mr. Joshua the cat appears more comfy now and I have less work to do also, so I guess this buzz cut is a win win..
