My perception is vague, my reflection unclear.
My eyes are two distorting mirrors that devise
a veneer fashioned with my fears.
I’m seized inside an illusory disguise
that’s only feeding me spoonfuls of lies.
Oh, how I hunger to be recognized...
Actuality stays hidden behind the scenes.
What my eyes perceive is make believe.
I’m incapable of comprehending the genuine me.
