How to Make Me Love You
When you look at the clouds, see paintings on blue canvas
Scream secrets of our love on top of mountains, rocks don’t forget what we confide in them as easily as humans
Live so freely, your dreams dull in comparison to your passion for life
Get trapped in wanderlust, constantly ache for the earth.
Understand music is the universal language, where each artist translates to a different person
Wish to swim in sunsets and fly in sunrises, wake up to see them at the beach
Laugh until you cry. Laughter is the best medicine for any ailment
Forget yourself. Love others so strongly you sometimes leave yourself behind.
I lied. This is not a poem about how to make me love you.
If not for you, this poem is about the question:
why is it still so hard to love myself?
All of the above are actions I involve myself in.
All of these religions are ones I so practice.
Perhaps, I wouldn’t have to write myself poems
On how to accept who I am
If I just loved myself, the way I love others.
