Dreams of Days Past

Is it true, that everything must end?
It happens, over and over again.
No matter your wish for more,
This dream,
It can not stay.
Rising is a new day.

The horror that comes with it, this day,
Makes you wish for an end.
Makes you wish you could have stayed
To see it again,
That wonderful dream,
There is nothing you want more.

The memories, make it seem like more,
Like there was once a day,
A wonderful dream.
It’s all a lie in the end.
It’s the same thing over again,
No matter in which dream you stay.

But, it seems, each time you wish to have stayed.
You desire a past you believe you love more.
But, really, it's the same thing over again.
This one, is the same as the one before, this day,
It never really ended.
It changed, made before into a dream.

But that world you remember, is not a wonderful dream.
The place in which you wish to stay,
Is the same you wish to end.
You continue to believe, you want that more,
But now you reach a new day,
And wish for the one you just claimed to hate, all over again.

It’s a cycle that keeps repeating again and again.
It’s a dream,
this “day”,
how badly you want it to stay.
It’s beauty seems so much more
now that it’s past its end.

This wonderful dream, it’s all in your head again.
The more you wish for it, the less time it stays.
This perfect little “day” always ends.
