Busy as a Bee

The saying “Busy as a Bee” falls on the ear pleasantly whereas “Busy as an Ant” does not, and slightly jars much as a musical piece ends unresolved, the listener left hanging. And is contrary to the ant’s well known work ethic. For not only is it an eyesore but, worse, an earsore.

It's not the ant's fault, it's the dumb writer's! Symmetrical alliteration requires prethinking. Many thanks for reading me, Linda. / Maurice
