3 Degrees of Separation

A humble agnostic will simply say, "I don't know if there is a God." A less humble one will bluntly proclaim, "You don't, either!" And the least humble will flatly contend, "We can't ever really know." What it boils down to, I suppose, Is that one might profess to be an agnostic If one is simply, bluntly, or flatly Too indecisive to be an atheist.

Interesting... After reading your write, which I find quite sensible, I am sitting here wondering how on earth my oldest son labels himself an 'atheist-agnostic.' Sounds like voodoo to me. Either you're one or the other it seems... Or maybe not so black-and-white as that. Maybe there's room for vacillation. Oh, I am so rigid sometimes!!! (My other two sons are little Rabbis, of course; and my daughter married a Rabbi.). C'est la vie. And here's to Life! ~ gw

"Either you're one or the other..."...hmmm, G, perhaps that's why the word "agnostic" was coined in the first fill that "void" between the two. Thanks for your input.

Thank you, S O. Not really trying to "make a point"...just trying to express where I am...or happen to find this process.
