Hi Everyone - Michael Jordan's Blog

   My name is Michael Jordan but I'm not that Mike. I was born in Bakersfield, California and raised just outside of Shafter, Calif. in a place called Smith Corner. My father left before I can remember and my mother drown before my eyes at the age of 4 so my Grandparents raised me with the help of my Uncle Joe.
   By the time I started High School I was hooked on drugs and they pretty much consumed my life until the age of 41. It was at that age during one of my many trips to Prison that I broke down and prayed to the God I had been so angry at since my Mothers death. When I had finished my prayer I got up and penned my first poem. My life would never be the same.
   I now live in a small Northern California town called Willows with my Wife Antoinette and our Daughter Michaela. By the grace of God I have 5 years clean and sober and I no longer Cook Meth to support myself. During the last 5 years I have devoted myself to try and warn others of the pains involved with the life I once lived. i curently have 4 books published and number 5 should be released soon, These books are

Hi Everyone

As some of you noticed I recently upgraded to a lifetime membership. To be honest I've been a lifetime member since day one. I guess now its official. I keep hoping that time will free up because I have many articles i wish to post soon as I can figure out how. School is still going amazingly well, which still surprises me. I've joined a literary club and Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I'm taking one class per semester at Chico State University and plan to transfer over next year. Who would have ever thought!

Our son Cody completed his service in the Army and after a tour in Iraq and one in Afghanistan our son is home for good now. He landed a job working on Turbine engines they use to generate power, which he loves. Soon as he got settled he brought me his boots he wore in combat and ask if I wanted them. I reckon he just wants to forget. I was surprised at the feeling I got wearing the boots that had marched through Baghdad, Iraq and Kabul, Afghanistan. Even now as I write about it I well up with tears. As thankful as we are for our sons return we feel for the parents who weren't so lucky. Our prayers are with them. I have to go because I have class in one hour. I love you my friends, mj

Sometimes we lose sight of what's important. It looks like you've got it all in perspective. You can give your son a thank you from an old retired Navy chief. You're an inspiration for we who whine about the little things. Enjoy each day with that beautiful family you have. God Bless. Vince

wow,that is an awesome story about being in those boots.It's so wondrous how things can make us really feel something just because it was "touched" by history or someone else having "walked in those boots!"

Hello Michael...it is so good to hear from you. And how nice to know you are continuing your education at Chico State. Two of my kids attended college there, and what a great school, and place to live. We were recently at a concert at Laxon Auditorium, so we know the campus well. Wonderful news about Cody returning home safe and sound.. my Eric left Iraq at Christmastime for his wedding here at home and got new orders for Sacramento, CA. so he is there with his new wife and they just discovered they are going to be parents around Thanksgiving ... congrats on your official Lifetime Membership on the Soup.. great day to celebrate Michael.. enjoy with luv..
