The Pond

Peace such peace by that old pond of mine, many years ago would dream my cares away, for hours on end had my first kiss while sitting by that old pond we made plans of what would never be. The old pond is dried up, as my memories are beginning to dry up, but the memory from that old pond will linger on for all ages. wrote 3-29-11

Nostalgia. In my old age I find myself weeping more than usual - surprising myself. all the old times and places become, somehow, magic. I heard Fritz Kreisler - an old 78, Victor Red Seal - play Poor Butterfly on the violin, and, honestly, I was a basket case for hours. I loved taking a dip in "The Old Pond." Love, dave

the memories that a particular place holds for us are so powerful. You've done a wonderful job capturing yours and telling us about them! Thanks for your comments on "Anatomy of a Cold". What is left of the cold is that lingering cough! I sound like I have a smoker's cough though not a cigarette has ever touched these lips;)) Hoping the cough syrup I got today will remedy that but quick:)

James, there was a wild wheat field we used to play in when I was a child. Now they've "paved over Paradise" and erected a McDonald's there. Still, you and I can cling to these memories. Sad poem, but it touched me deeply. Love, Carolyn
