One Day Is Not Enough

One day alone is not enough
To measure universal love
Sculptured in her embodiment
One day alone is not enough
To tell treausre greatest of my heart
Besides the shrine where I serve my Lord.
One day alone is not enough
To fill the void that was her love
And set her caring worthiness apart
And honor her with honey words.

This mother's day then
May day shall blow blues again
And moon to dark I descend
The shrivelling path of pain.
What flowers on her grave
Can fend away the gloom
Of loss? No card can crave
The her eyes' bloom like petals
Withered now within the grave
I vested soul and all to save
You for the gallery of my stars
And finite so the thing I prove
How death can any mortal move
And mother's day make scars.

Ah, L'nass. you feel many here in this write. Like Michael, my mother and i have a very hard history. this is what my book is about: a 7 yr old girl trying to rememember her regressed memories after a madman killed her via suicide/murder and tortured me through it all. she was only 26 when she dies, but had learned a lifetime of brutality til that point. I watched it all and cannot remember a damn thing. she was so beautiful, like an angel inside and out - that...I sense. you are awesome. loveme

Ok, between this poignant and brilliantly written poem and the incredible comments, I am crying here. I am left to say, no, one day is never enough. I am lucky to have been blessed with a most loving, giving, selfless mother, and though she is now gone I knew her, and I hold her close, forever. Thank you for this most personal and beautiful expression of love and loss, and most importantly, the most blessed gift of what is, mother. Love, Shar

The only memory I truly have of my mother was watching her die - So I know all about the scars of Mothers day bro - I would like to offer this with the greatest respect in mind - The true pain of death is for those left living because of the huge void left in our lives - The one solace we have is that they live on inside our hearts and memories - One day my friend we will all meet in a better place - I would like to think that our Mothers are looking down upon us with the joy that comes from

L'nass no words could ever express what this poem means to me - At the age of four I watched my mother drown which left me with a sever stutter and a heart so full of rage and hate especially towards God for i couldn't see beyond my own pain - 40 years later I finally made my peace with God enough to seek out my father I had never met - He had died several years earler while I was in Prison but I found the rest of his side of my family which has blessed my life more than words could ever express
