A Thankful Thanksgiving
"And the Heavens gave the rains
And the earth brought forth its fruit."
We are thankful for our blessings
That You give without dilute.
We do not stop to thank You
As often as we ought
For the bounty set before us
And the life Your own Son bought.
We have Your Holy promise
Eternal life to receive.
There are no thanks sufficient
If Your promise we believe.
We come to You as children, Lord
Without a single doubt.
You have spread this feast before us
And Your gifts are all about.
We thank You for our blessings
In total gratitude
For keeping us from straying
When Evil would intrude.
We pray the world will listen
And be still to hear Your Word.
May hate be driven from all lands;
Peace be at last, restored.
On this Thanksgiving, Father
We come with open hearts
To receive the love You give us
And all that it imparts.
Amen
