cherry blossoms

atop worn weathered concrete
pink petals gaily gather
entice lovers strolling
fingers touch mittens vanish.

blushing halo canopy
highlights cool rosy cheeks
tiny buds whisper passion
newly awakened long sleep.

sky gleams dreamy hues
turquoise shyly taunting
button noses cold rub
lips plump part wanting.

kiss two hearts waltz
more kisses sweetest tune
cherry blossoms dance
sprinkle magic love blooms.

I see you have not posted for a little while, Lynn...same as myself--perhaps like me you have just been too busy! Your poem is dated in April of this year...my very favorite time--April leading into May. Everything is so new, so vibrant, so fresh; birdsong is so liquid and imploring; the world world seems to offer a new start...to me this is the most beautiful time!! Hope this little message finds you content and secure, Lynn. My very warmest regards...and my very best wishes. :) john

Really nice metaphor, how cherry blossoms beckon a passionate love, after cold winter, spring blossoms as love blooms. So succinctly written this is so much harder than it looks! Well done!

This poem is bright and breezy with a “fabreeze” kind of freshness that lingers after the words are read, like an exotic aroma. Very suggestive and imaginative use of words, skillfully constructed with finesse. Emile. #7

Hi and shalom Lynn. I read this before ... but came back after meditation: You have the gift of finding writers who need your kind of stirring ...encouragement. This celebration of shades of lavender etc during Japanese Gift given to US ... is marvelous. Because of its beauty, this poem earns 7 & more. For your kindness to other writers, 7 million (Dollars, not Rupees) amen and amein. Blessings in Yeshua
