Premium Member The lighthouse at Battery Point, Crescent City, CA

The lighthouse
alone on the hill
just a tree at its side
its beacon
that light

It casts a long light
in a long blink
and then it's gone
in a spin
to mark the shore within

It sits on its own island
only accessible on low tide
the path a bridge
mercurial moat that hides it

The building is lit at night
as well as its beam
presenting an eerie glow
In the fog it seems

Almost haunted
romantic
so substantial

It's survived tsunamis
wrapped around its base
which left no trace
as they ravaged inland

A sight to see
A hike I intend to aspire
up those circular stairs
to peer out through that light tower

Yesterday I had lots of fun with Sugar Ray,
Now the neighbors yell out words like ‘gay’.
Oh I believe in yesterday.

The Ballad of the Ca Surfer

The Ballad of the California Surfer

Early morning waves rise high
Looking like it touches the California sky
While surfers glide through morning waves,
Sun shining down on the sand
As ocean mist wets his hand,
There's no place I would rather be
Then on a surfboard out at sea
Through the horizon
While waves are risen
I will surf the california seas
 Through that wet misty breeze
When I surf the waves with such ease,
Because there's no place I would rather be
Then on a surfboard out at sea
While the sun is risen
On the early morning horizon
I will surf the California seas

Motivation

Let's motivate ourselves with our dreams,
In the fields we’ve chosen, following our streams.

Want to become a doctor like me?
Oh, I aim to save lives, that’s the key.

An engineer? To create something new,
I'll have no regrets, only victories to view.

A chartered accountant? Tough, but funny,
One day, you'll manage all the money.

Remember your dream, hold onto your goal,
Believe you’re the best for your role.

If the world calls you foolish for a fall,
Know it’s the start of your success call.

Wait for the movie of life to unfold,
And soon, they’ll call you wise and bold.

Who the heck was a supporter
of this brain-dead Katie Porter?
Seems her daughter’s mind was tortured:
she asked, if raped, who’ll escort her
to a neighborhood aborter
now that Trump can surely thwart her?
Porter should receive no quarter;
It's quite clear it would comport for
Californians to report her.

Oddly, I had no news on, at all today,
I just heard about your city’s early morning’s sway!

Having lived through earthquakes, I know that fear…
You wait for those afterschocks, that’s so very clear!

Keep flashlights and all electronics charged.
God watches over you, he is your best guard!

I do remeber building swaying to and fro.
But there really was no place at all to go.

And when an afterschock comes in the night,
It rolls you in bed, from left to your right

From your NoCal neighbor.
Love and Prayers, gear piets!

I buy this computer magazine
Designed for idiots like me;
It’s there in the index page –
Essential downloads free.
I follow each instruction faithfully
Essentially ensuring not to mix it,
Then I phone my elder son
And he comes round to fix it.
He mutters as he struggles
It seems to take all night
But fingers crossed, at last
Its up and running right.
He glares with mild exasperation
Says, dad promise you’ll not try
To do this again, but realises
I don’t quite meet his eye.
I love my little computer
Its gives me so much fun
Each finished project making
Me glow with a job well done.
It runs oh so smoothly
It fills me with delight.
I run my little computer
Nearly every single night;
Then I buy this computer magazine
That’s designed for idiots like me
And it’s full of essential downloads
And every one is free …………

Teachers can't afford to live there
So parents of student are offering space
  We've seen this scenario before
    Hearken back to Colonial days*

But back then there were no taxes
    Parents paid teachers out-of-pocket
  The message from high-tax California
    ~ Inflation's taken off like a rocket

Premium Member Earthquakes Tonight In Ca

Down from the Sierra they rolled.
Daughter asked, Are you kicking
my chair?
On a big couch, I sat,
Felt absolutely nothing.
There were three in a row.
Of low magnitude.
But she felt it hard.
Usually, earthquakes here,
feel or have a rolling motion.
Tonight, not so!
And no, are not a frightening
sensation.

Coo, Coo Ca-Choo

my world took flight with appetite
those bastions precisely planned
slowly collapsed and caved
on shifting drifting sand

you were the screen in my submarine
the rubber crutch on which I lean
holes in my boat letting water out
and the sour in cabbage kraut

dominos fall
when the clock strikes two
a shrew flew over my cuckoo
and the shrew that flew is you

Perilous Times Ca

Auspicious notion losing momentum to perilous times of trauma and travail from Anguish churning through streams of Atrocious thick mud brewing up storms of grime
peculiarities drawn from condemnation of core greed grasping through amassed oppression firmly set to vanquish the Allure of fame and monstrosity.

Serene ambience to Assuage pain of Awry disappearance underneath facade result of Appetency for curious hope of light leading to an everlasting outcome
joggling amidst wanderers to Absolve power prowess of doomy bout of flames as time of reckoning spews toward a mysterious pillage of casualties.

Once enraptured by beautiful Bathsheba’s allure,
my life went horribly awry.
My appentency for control took a very bad turn
after I gave into lust and tried to conceal my awful sin.
I sent Bathsheba’s innocent spouse to the front of a battle,
having him serve in a position not at all auspicious.
My first sin of adultery had multipled into other sins!

Now beset by anguish, I plead with the Lord
to forgive me and show me his great compassion.
I ask Him to assuage my miserable soul
and restore me to salvation.
I suffer here on earth the pains of hell
for my atrocious transgressions.
I beg for God to absolve me.
Forevermore I shall sing praises to my beloved Lord.

An a Lesson - Ca

Angels observe in un-articulated anguish from above,
anxiety afflicted by appalling accelerated ambition of the aggregate
that redefines the archaic, apocalyptical allure
 driving humanity to its brink of active self annihilation;
those moments of antiquated adversarial abstractions
when history goes awry in its accursedness
revels the atrocious alienation of poverty ignored,
that hidden appetency wherein
the very acquiescence of its anticipated allure,
 blinds us in our astigmatism that can anesthetize living well;
the assuage ascendancy of life's pain and amplified existence
briefly lingers, dies
as we absolve ourselves with abstinence
surpassing the more auspicious moments lost
when we could have been assertively aggrandized,
to become
 more augmented humanity.
