Little Red Riding Hood took a lunch
to her grandma who liked to munch
Riding Hood liked to play like waiter
until Wolf spied her and then ate her.

Little Bo Peep had trouble with sheep
They'd follow grass. "Stop it," she'd peep.
One got lost, causing Bo to sniff:
"That's it!" and pushed all over cliff.

Cinderella got dressed for the dance
Mean stepsisters said, "Think you have a chance?"
Cindy lost shoe, Prince said, "Yeah, she'll do."
That wasn't hard, she said. (gee, who knew!)

Jack traded cow for a magic beanstalk
His mom was angry, said, "take a walk"
He climbed stalk, killed giant, stole gold bullion
invested in bitcoins, and made a gazillion!

There's surely a moral to the fairytale story
Beware what happens when things get gory!

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
And I've lost my little old mind
Been cruising along then all of a sudden
Wham! You came up from behind

Behind the great walls of secrecy
Lost my ability to observe
Like how our lives had gotten along
Since life threw us both a curve

We drifted apart without knowing why
Sadly we each took different paths
It matters not coz you're with me again
In spirit oh so I did yearn

To relive those days those halcyon days
Days that were free of care
I'm floating on air as I sing a love song
It's more than my heart can bare

Sadly time has changed many things
From the sweetest times I recall
But just to know that you love me still
They're the sweetest words of all

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
And I've lost my little old mind

LITTLE BO PEEP-MY VERSION

Little Bo peep
Where are your sheep
You looked around to find them
They didn’t come home
Now you’re all alone
Stuck in a sad zone
Just waiting for them
To come home
Little Bo peep
You lost your sheep
And now trying to find them
Just send out a drone
To lead them back home
So, you won’t be all alone

“Little Bo-peep has lost her sheep
And doesn’t know where to find them.
Leave them alone and they’ll come home,
Bringing their tails behind them.”

Little Bo- peep had a tawny sheep
It went missing while she was asleep

She searched it in fields so green
But sad, it was nowhere to be seen

She heard a bleating from a nearby hill
She ran in the direction in rising thrill

Seeing her, the sheep came bouncing back
In joy, she danced on the way down the track.

She fed it with sheaves of grass
No more it crossed its boundary to trespass

Ever since, her sheep was always near
And little Bo- peep had no cause to fear.

Wham! You hit me from behind

Behind the great walls of secrecy

The Legend of Johnny Cash

Entry for the Golden Age of Music Poetry Contest, sponsored by Oliver McKeithan, March 2025, Second Place.

I dreamed of Johnny Cash last night,
his music spoke to me,
I said I thought that you were dead,
but music lives said he,
but music lives said he.

From Folsom, to Fort Bend,
for every soul behind bars,
he asked if we could say a prayer,
then picked up his guitar,
then picked up his guitar.

He sung to me of Ira Hayes,
words that rung in my ears,
the world of reservations,
with all those rivers of tears,
with all those rivers of tears.

We talked and talked of music,
country, hip hop and blues,
how Bo Diddley and Beyoncé,
can move our blue suede shoes,
can move our blue suede shoes.

I dreamed of Johnny Cash last night
surprised to see him back,
I said I thought that you were dead,
but he was still dressed in black,
but he was still dressed in black.

LITTLE BO PEEP

LITTLE BO PEEP

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
And doesn’t know where to find them.
Leave them alone and they’ll come home,
Bringing their tails behind them

But, after a week, they hadn’t returned
So she notified the police,
Who promised to do their very best
To recover every fleece.

Every officer was deployed
To ensure the sheep were recovered
And after an extensive search,
Their whereabouts was discovered.

But it wasn’t the happy ending
Bo Peep was hoping for.
They were found in the freezer section
Or the local superstore.

My Heart's Keeping a Bo Diddly Beat

"my heart's keeping a Bo Diddley beat"

looking back at
yesterday now

i've got a back
brace like training

bra in place
and a lumbar

belt round my
waist as i

seem
to be

wasting
away

in
my

old
age

but at the very
least i can

say i can get
out my guitar

and play
just like

yesterday
and do that

hip
shake

thang

Premium Member Refurbished Nursery Rhymes: Little Bo Peep Or the Consequenes of Sleeping On the Job

A shepherd girl named Bo Peep lost her sheep and her Jeep
And didn't know where to find them.
She fell asleep stoned,
When she woke they were gone,
Leaving hoof prints and tire tracks behind them.

She offered as ransom a handsome reward
And assured there'd be no repercussions.
Then the cops said, "Go home
And wait by the phone
For the culprit to call with instructions."

They nabbed an indigent herder who confessed to the murder
Of all of her sheep and to stealing her Jeep.
But still Little Bo Peep lost her job herding sheep,
And then, to her added dismayment,
She lost her practically new Jeep Grand Cherokee, too,
When she couldn't keep up with the payments.

Let this be a lesson, boys and girls, when you're grown
And are working and making it all on your own.
Though it is an annoyment, you only get unemployment,
If you're laid off, not fired,
From the place you were hired.

Tae Bo

when i got home from school
my mother was watching
oprah again
with a shopping bag
of ice on her knee
when i asked her
what happened
she said

“i dont want to talk about it”

and later i found out
she was working out
to a tae bo dvd
when her knee
popped out of her socket
and nobody was home
and she doesnt drive
and she had no friends
so she had to pop it
back into her socket
herself and she said
it was the worst day
of her life

Little boy Bo
Loves football so
He’s glued to a television

He spends half his fall
Watching football
A boy with a life’s mission

He dreams he’ll grow big
So, he’ll land a gig
In the game of human collision

A Realm of Ours

Between The Sky of Yours,
& The Land of Mine's,
Is there A Realm of Ours ?

Premium Member Bo the Dachshund Dog - Nursery Rhyme

Bo, half-blind Dachshund Dog,
Barked and barked at the groundhog
Burrowed in the dampen ground.
Groundhog emerging from its home
Squinting from the brilliant sun
To see Bo groomed with red hearts
In his eyes, complaining none;
Went back down into the ground
Back with a handful of heart shape tarts.
