I found a bone
By the gas works wall
Dreamed a dream
By the old canal
I gnawed that bone
By the factory wall

cardboard mattress 
concrete box spring

cocooned within the threads of shame

pillow stained 
with dried tears of despair

air pockets 
hover with a pungent force

A carefree behavior is all we see.

I had glorious plans for my life.

I only rested on the bookstore shelf
