X-Men '97

You took another breath, so i took another risk
Your lips mouthed the words, I could not hear
"Do not go over there, young one"
But I couldn't survive without danger
And neither can you

The strange figure appeared in the dead of night, opposing me
Words emitted from their very essence, way too loud to understand
They smiled. I finally felt understood.

Yet, as much as they understood me, I wish I never learnt to understand them too.
And the words too loud became way too quiet,
And the picture too small became way too big,
And the feelings too different became ... Normal?

Life would be different from now on.

Thoughtfully wrapped and nicely presented
Sometimes even with ribbons and bows
This can be very pleasing on the eye
However, it’s the gift within that’s important
The packaging is superficial and often temporary
People are like presents
Value the inner gift of people
Value the inner You

In 1997,

No one knew anything.

My parents didn’t know what to do with an inconsolable baby.

Until 2012, no one knew.

Until the diagnosis, no one knew.

The delays were “nothing serious,” they lied.

I would grow up in a new millennium.

Struggles unknown to anyone.

My parents were worried.

Since 1997.

A lot of kids have been born.

Since 1997.

To the Class of 97 At Cambridge High School

The fun we had,formulated individualism
We had lots of those
The focus we had,formulated maturity
We achieved it
What a unique class
The endless laughter
Lead to the enjoyment of the year
The naughtiness
Lead to the togetherness
A class to be remembered

Premium Member My Daily Meditation - Psalm 119: 97-104

How can I express how I feel?
for I meditate upon it all the day
your law is ever with me always
wisdom comes from what your law says

My teachers can't compare to it
for I meditate daily on your law
even the elderly don't understand
in thy word I have seen no flaw

The word has kept me from evil
making sure I'm right when I walk
going in the straight direction
obeying always what's God's talk

Tasting God's word is so sweet
even honey can't even compare
I learn understanding from God
to leave falsehood and any snare

(This is my " Psalm 119 project" which I began to write a couple of years ago, so this is the thirteenth poem of twenty-two poems I've written over that time to cover all of Psalm 119.)

As we sing our own song
Judging right from wrong
We may do well to pause
To search for the faux pas
That makes real this error
Reflecting in our demeanour

Layer by layer
As we slowly uncover
Cause of subconscious prejudice
We choose to give beliefs a miss
Decluttering our being
From past conditioning

As we shift our abode to the void
Wherein we are ever overjoyed
God inside
We abide
With love & light
Blissful & bright

Premium Member Aliens Took Her In the Summer of 97

Aliens took her in the summer of 1997
She had nearly forgotten them
Incorporating her experiences in her dreams
Pretending it did not happen
So she could remain free and unchained

She remembered waking up on their table
Being examined by creatures with bulb like heads
She sometimes sees the dark brown orbs peering
As the aliens picked up her appendages one by one
Dropping her flesh with disdain as they dismissed each

Aliens took her in the summer of 1997
They took pieces she has never been able to salvage
They took her feelings of safety and her peace
They took her carefreeness and her uninhibited ways
Causing her to constantly be on guard and aware

She dared not speak of her abduction
If she wanted to stay free and normal
So she kept it to herself and it worried no one
Giving others the false sense of well-being
She had lost in the summer of 1997

The Lord above is righteous in his love,
he shines his light on the good, and
through his gate- they will walk.

97 Years a Dedication

97 years a life of entertaining
Blessed by family and friends
A memory you have become
97 years for a new song to sing
An angel you will become
No more pain No more sorrow
Tears all but dried away
For you are a truly free soul
Now love will carry us through
A guardian from above you shall be remembered as
We love you uncle Stuart.........

COPLA 97 INVOCATION : This Bad Guy World

God of money makes monkeys of man
Great leaders line up for Mammon mass :
Count notes sleepless

Sound of money clinking in the bank
Is enough to make leaders kiss *ss :
Monkey business

Leaders decide when to declare war
Silence disgruntled men in their youth :
Weapons bring loot

Warring peoples always want something more
Like a thousand acres of greed to soothe :
Vanquished stay mute

See, see the splurptious sky
Marvel at its big Mauve depths.
Tell me, dingle, do you
Wonder why the Aardvark ignores you?

Why its foobly stare
makes you feel Crappy.
I can tell you, it is
Worried by your crumbobulous facial growth

That looks like
A Rotten fish.
What's more, it knows
Your flarpgurgle potting shed

Smells of a ball of snot.
Everything under the big splurptious sky
Asks why, why do you even bother?
You only charm aliens?
