18 Wheels and Away

Blank stares and wide open spaces
wrinkled lines on work-worn faces
Sleep deprived on overload
wide awake in bed alone.

A thousand miles between us still
The worries and stress are real
The pavement clanks on old, worn tires

Months feel like years in a flash,
Home for a few days, that doesn't even last.

Darting around the house,
