My fellow poets,

Like that one slightly depressing, but awesome, song released many years ago...

..."It's been awhile". 

After a long hiatus, "Stand as 1" will return to the largest Walmart Supercenter on the planet (THE INTERNET) on Thursday night, May 5th, 2016, 6pm California time on BLOG TALK RADIO!

Get. Hyped.

There are a few important things to highlight with the return of this show:

Me + 3: No, I didn't go off and have a bunch of children while I've been away. Joining me will be 2-3 additional hosts & long time friends of mine who are also in the Poetry Radio business. My additonal hosts reside in Southern California (1Love), Georgia (Betzy Hughes), & Germany (Renard Yearby). So, that makes SA1 a bit more international that it already was! Woop. Woop.

Long-Term Goal: Initially, SA1 was meant to simply be a platform for poets all over the world, which I'm extremely proud to say was a success. So, how does it go further than that? AN FM RADIO MORNING SHOW! Though there has been a shift in how many humans listen to FM radio today, I wondered what would happen if I were to bring Poetry into the morning spotlight, and not just talk. Will we pull this off? Not without your support!

Format: It will be the same as it ever was! Listen to the banter & our poetry, join us in the chatroom to interact w/us, then call in to share YOUR work or to simply say HI from whatever country you're calling from (waiting on a poet from Antarctica, FYI)! It's good for your blood pressure, promise! Also, having PHENOMENAL & INSPIRING guests like I've had from here on Poetry Soup will still be a thing! 

Show frequency: For the sake of life balance and other [insert funky, millenial buzzwords here] stuff, we'll probably keep this bi-weekly or monthly for now. If response grows & maintains, that may change.

Ok, enough talk/type/whatever! You want details!!! BAM:

The fun all goes down at 6pm PST/9pm EST/2am London Time/9am in the Philippines!

Wanna listen and/or read your work on the show? You have a few options: 

Web: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/standas1 (There is a chat room where you can talk with myself and others in the chat, but you'll have to register on the site to do so. Otherwise, you'll just appear as "Guest12345" in the chat room with no ability to communicate with others).

Phone: (646) 716-4762 (You can hear the show live over the phone. If you want to read a poem on the air, then please be sure to press "1" and the voice prompt will confirm that you're in my Host queue to read a poem.)

Please keep in mind that all callers that want to read on my show are selected in the order they call in and who presses "1" to be placed in my queue.

I've been waiting and waiting for your return!! So happy to hear your show is making a comeback, Drake, you always made your listeners happy with your friendly welcome! And if possible, I will have my ear tuned in while doing the happy dance!! Welcome back !!

I loved the interaction you had on your show Drake. I only heard it a few times live but listened to a few of the archives. I hope to listen on those Thursday nights when I'm home from the baseball fields.

Thanks so much, Tim! Yes, I make sure I bring some of these REALLY shy poets out of their shell and share their work w/others. It adds a beautiful sheen to their already excellent work. You get to hear what they're really saying. Next to seeing it read in person, it's a damn fun feeling. I hope you can too!

Well looky here! "It's been awhile" indeed! Am I a sender, or what? Nah, just kidding! I posted a blog a few days ago, mentioning, looking for you and right below your blog right now-- yup I posted a blog again, audio of Charma reciting "Pasionata" during your show. So nice to see you here again, Drake! Sighs, though since I'll be mega busy starting next week -- let me see if I can tune in, even a wee bit! Btw, that's really wonderful how you have 2 other hosts with you--I'm sure you're going to have even more loads of fun with them!
