As You Say My Name

Within a moment's grace
She held my heartbeat against her gentle dialect

Her pearly smile and chocolate diamond retinas
Prescribed laughter, as she
Incompletely
Spoke my name

Vowels tripping against her nervous steps.

Her facial tone became tomato's rejected lyric.

My dignity, stunned.
My smile, overpowered.

She held me close to her digital breaths,
With apologies, unforced

There is a charm within her tender innocence.

A charm I may never physically discover.

But,
Today,
This smile cowers

With a silent exhilaration

Yeah!!! you have a new poem. Can you see me dancing a jig? I love the tender hesitant feel of this one. It's like you are holding your breath at her endearing awkwardness...."incomplete name, vowels tripping, nervous steps" afraid to utter a sound and break the spell of this moment.

"She held me close to her digital breaths, With apologies, unforced"-an unforced apology always feels great. Sounds like she's a breath of fresh air and prone to skip many heartbeats! I love that ending...a thrilling experience, thanks for sharing! Always, Laura

Oh at last,a comeback!!!'She held my heartbeat against her gentle dialect'..Super line! Then an outstanding continuation of. digital breaths and yum chocolate retinas..But the ending has a profound message..'But today the smile cowers with silent exhilaration' ..It gives me a sad feeling,as if someone bubbly and witg a tender voice had fallen to silence..It leaves the reader with wuestions of'Why?'..

Hi hi! :) Yes, just a little something, something...I like your perspective on the ending. It's a little different than what I was going for. But, nevertheless, it was a wonderful perspective to have. Thank you so much, Charmine!
