What I Had Seen For Us
Small cozy place with a tall brick chimney.
That is what I envisioned for him and for me.
I seen us house picking and laughing at one another's selections, debating on which one of your collections were to be kept.
Who vacuumed and who swept?
Who ran errands and about being parents.
We were young and dumb but we fit together better then most and more than some.
You had the love and I had the heart,
You knew how to say everything I needed to hear from the very start.
For me to buy into every little wish and want wasn't very smart.
I regret it daily and almost every night.
Our future's were never really that bright to be honest.
You headed to prison after high school,
And I learned what it meant to play house like a young stupid teenage fool.
We lead separate lives but came together again as young adults.
Everything that transpired afterwards was both our faults.
I fell more in love with you then I thought I would
That lead us to believe that we could be more then we should.
I am sorry that I saw so much for you and me
I am also sorry that things weren't ever all that they could really be.
