Congratulations to All the First Rounders - Yoni Dvorkis's Blog

Hi Everyone,<BR><BR>I just wanted to congratulate those of us here at PS that made the first round. Very well deserved as always since we are all supremely talented, a fact I've known since I've joined almost a year ago. <BR><BR>While I am ecstatic my entries made 'the cut' as well, I can't help but linger on the fact that I have yet to receive my prize money from the previous round in October, even after emailing the Soup Board directly and getting verification from them that 'the check is in the mail'. I guess I'm posting this blog hoping to see if anyone else shared in this predicament at some point. I have confirmed with one other soup member that she hasn't received hers yet either and I admit I'm a bit disheartened by the whole thing and am not really sure what to make of it. <BR><BR>I apologize if this sounds a bit snotty. I only mean to express my feelings towards what is looking more and more like an absentee landlord failing to do what they've promised to do with our wonderful site and make sure it stays true to the heart of why we're all here.<BR><BR>Thanks for your attention and congratulations again.<BR><BR>-Yoni Dvorkis<BR><BR>

I keep getting congratulations comments on my poem, "Begging Change from Society," for making it to the next round of PS contest, but I can't find out where the winners are listed for the first round of the contest. Date: 12/21/2009 12:26:00 PM Hi Yoni, did you have you address updated? The Soup staff only mails prize money and certificates once so they depend on the correct information. Have you confrimed with Poetrysoup that they have your correct mailing address and email address? Corinne Curcio Date: 12/21/2009 3:35:00 AM Anyway - to finish my thought - I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see I was a semi finalist. We don't know all that goes on behind the scenes with the site owners. There might be a good reason why you haven't gotten prize money yet, Yoni. It's distinction enough to be a winner in the contest. Actually winning money is the icing on the cake, to me anyway. I'd just love to have a medal or a certificate or something :-) Login to Reply
