St Paul Cemetery
obsessive morbid shadows
preying on the night
call upon the angels’ grace
fill their hearts with light
they only wish to rest now
shadows of the past
nestled safely underground
comforted at last
of course they felt abandoned
fear was all they knew
ghosts held hostage within their bodies
wholeness split in two
their softened earth is sacred
in death lies their release
six feet deep two feet wide
may they rest in peace
