Of One Family

Did they believe Their faith alone would not grant Certainty in their protection That they would be Cast aside Debt of imperfection And disloyalty Shunned unworthy For what only Amounted to One mistake No matter how much They disagree?

Yoni, You have rightly captured the theme of my poem ‘Do not Knock’. Deserters normally do not come back for swallowing pride is difficult. There wouldn’t have been desertion had love dominated their heart. Mere fact that deserted has sealed the entry door bears testimony to immense love for deserter. That love has transformed into agony and he/ she holding the agony dear lives with it. Door is not to open who ever it is that knocks. I have read your poem and found it exhilaratng– Mohammad

So beautiful is the ability to forgive and to agree to disagree. This is a great write. A reminder that some things are worth forgetting in order to preserve something special. I really love this one reads in a way the reader is left to interpret it to their own life. Great write. Smiles from Lolita
