Growing Pains

Coldest winter night Someone make the yelling stop I can't fall asleep Why she picked a fight Tears of guilt fall drop by drop I tried counting sheep Mommy turn the light On, so I can see your face Promises to keep Mommy hold me tight Don't let go of my embrace Mommy please don't weep

Interesting series--one that is too often a reality. The title compliments the poem well. Thank you for sharing your talent with us and for your kind comments. Have a good day! Karen

So chilling and haunting. Much remembered pain. I can feel your inner child in this visceral piece. Best wishes, Sara

Yet only tears can dilute the trauma in the memory of earth's living witnesses. Very disturbing, very compassionate.

so touching... lovely haiku and the title just fitting! its always in the dark that women weep... i for example, just so my mom thinks i am strong ... well anyway, take care, Yoni! ~ Arany

I love the way this is written but the pain within the words is so clearly expressed. This piece really hits home for me, reminding me of my own childhood. Very well written but heartbreaking. Peace, Love, and Light be with you always. Smiles from Lolita

Yoni, I can see the struggle of which you spoke in your comment on my work when I read this poem. It is so sad that children have to suffer, and I'm sorry for your pain. This is a haunting piece, filled with an angst from which we should protect children. Very nice! Love, Carolyn
