And when his number was called
He stood before the judges' panel
Ready to make his statement.
Their question:
'What do you seek?'
To which he replied:
'I seek the means to endless fame, fortune, and the adoration of millions.
It is my gift I give them so that they may forever know my name.'
But drowning in his bottomless well of pride
He was not prepared for their answer:
'In a world where you know nothing,
Where every event you've ever lived through has been almost entirely out of your control,
You covet the higher status, like millions of those around you.
Yet you did not know what you ask, for you assumed
It was your right to take by force.
Only select few reach the status you seek
Only to learn the same lesson we offer you today:
It is not of God, and so you do not desire it.’
It was then he disappeared forever into the shadows,
Where it was his only role to observe
The strange and curious world within his heart.
It was then he truly learned to stay silent and remain anonymous
To all save those who wished to listen
And could resonate with what he had to say.
