I am so thankful that Chantelle is ok. In fact, she feels much better now! Finally I got a call from her today after not being able to get a hold of her since last Friday. She told me I could relay to her Soup friends what happened to her, so here goes . . .

She is not sure when, but probably that Friday morning I called her, Chantelle had a "psychosis breakdown" which is the term she used. During that mental state, she deleted her Soup account and called the ambulance, and she has no memory of any of it, not even of talking to me on the phone in the middle of all this! She feels really terrible to have deleted all her poetry with lovely comments. I asked if she had poems in her files and she thinks she does, so let's hope she puts back her account soon.

Chantelle told me that her breakdown was due in a large part to her diet. She had less than half the sodium in her body that people require to function well on. Because of high blood pressure, she had been avoiding sodium totally. Also she was drinking way too much coffee. Those things, coupled with her mental illness, put her into the state that caused her to delete her Soup account and then call an ambulance. As she sat outside waiting for the ambulance, her friends found out what was happening. She says she has a good little group of friends who care for her, and she will be spending Thanksgiving with them.

Chantelle told me that she had been wanting to change her account anyway because she wants to change her course through poetry and not put up dark poems any more. She wants only to write happy things, or things about nature, etc. I hope she reopens her account soon. Meanwhile, she has lost ALL her contact info. Please, if you are a good friend of Chantelle's, she requests that you soupmail me and give me your emails  so that she can renew her connections with you in the future. Or if you request it, I can give you her phone number in private. As of now, she does not even have an email account that she can refer people too. Please Soupmail me, and I hope she renews her account soon.
