When they Scurry

Night after night I still dream about these blocks. Dance they do, dance they don't. Seeing them hand-less in effortless glide, my mind strides so young to differ! squared, cube, these blocks move sporadic movement in dance no rhyme, reasoning Again the nights throw these scratching sounds from below my bed, dread I. In confusion scrawl, they bawl silently to me, em-blazing their letters to allure from within my abyss, this deep that haunts me, yet I know is alive. scurrying, confused to and fro they go, they show mis-spelt disarray Again I'm sitting, anticipating, yet I know where I am, I'm home, again alone. I'm under, yet bolder, shouldering at six years old, now seeing clarity, for the blocks are speaking to me, I see, now crying believe. no longer grotesque his zest upon his request blue lights alight, gone .

James, I am glad that you come up with your haibun...Regards to the poem, this my second read, a deep, intriguing write.. The blocks is one good metaphor.. Your haiku always leave me puzzle but when I read it again and again they do strike!!! This poem has a tinge of sadness but I like that on the third there is that survival attitude of the child.... =')! hugs and hugs!~Olive Eloisa =')

A fantastic Haibun dear poet. I read this like three times to get a visual of my past childhood, cause I fear that I am one of those late bloomers<~~~~you may repartee that sentence sir *smiles* I read it actually because of all of those Alpha'blocks with all the children of mine ! This write reminded me that I am on my last block'scapade ! Loved it my friend ! Have a great coming up week James...much love, james...P.S..love those Castles on FB !
