A World Without War

A world without war . . . When was mankind ever without it? Over the centuries, Rumors and the rumblings of war have seemed to persist. Little does it seem there is anything the common man can do. Do we even believe in the possibility of peace? We dream and sing of peace. As John Lennon sang, “Imagine all the people livin’ in peace.” The world would be such a different place. How wonderful to think of that – a world in which Our children need never fear war’s horrors, and Unified in peace, all nations thrived! “Triumphant” would take on a different meaning. . . Were the world at peace, “triumphant” could be defined As an adjective for overcoming prejudice, hate, and greed. Rich in love would be our world. In fact, we would be heaven.

Andrea, great poem! I think if we could realize that we are linked to everyone and everything in this world...and if we had leaders who could explain this situation, we could have peace. Unfortunately, not everyone is currently on the same page....hard to know if we ever will be.

It's a hard situation to imagine, but so many problems would be solved. Instead of building weapons, we could concentrate on feeding the hungry. I really liked your poem, Andrea. Good luck in the contest! (Sorry I haven't commented lately.)

Nice poem. I wish people don't go to war and kill others for land and power to control. The politicians should read your poem.

Dear andrea, i cant imagine a world without war, but i wish for that more than anything, not just war but other sort of violence that makes us fear for our lives in some parts of the world, when we leave the house. They say signs of the end are these, cruelty.. brilliant how you did an an acrostic for this! Clever, pleasure reading this. Best wishes for the contest

Dear Andrea, a meaningful stirring poem soulfully expressed. Oh how I wish we could live in a world without war.. it’s funny how just a handful of leaders (..out of 8 billion people on the planet!) are responsible for all the current wars and the immense misery and death they cause. A heartfelt piece my friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Dear Andrea, I love how your acrostic delves into the longing for a world without the scourge of war, echoing the collective yearning for peace and harmony. Through your poetic words, you articulate the universal desire for a better tomorrow, where love triumphs over hatred and unity prevails over division. Your dream of a world rich in compassion and devoid of conflict inspires hope and reflection. This is a wonderful call for our shared humanity and the possibility of a brighter future. Amen, Andrea! -Blessings, Daniel

Great acrostic. Lennon was a false prophet. True peace cannot be achieved without the Prince of Peace. I believe a world without war is closer than many think

Lennon had good intentions. He just did not understand reality.
