A Death In the Sun

At last At last we know He was not always to be He was not permanent Not the everlasting punished Not the everlasting punisher Not some northern Prometheus Caught Caught stealing ice and snow From a northern God’s Olympus Today Today I see See the slush-puddle formed Where he stood Where the snowman stood ‘Neath roiling blasted skies Looking out Looking straight ahead With cold blue-crystal eyes Today Today I see See the clear puddle formed Faintly rippling in the wind Reflecting Reflecting VICTORY! Reflecting sky’s ultimate Her searing golden eye

This grabbed me and I enjoy it very much. I'm not sure I'm always able to accurately convey exactly why a work moves me and what I like about it, but I do know when I connect with one. I connect with this. And thank you for your kind words for my work I Want to be Pinocchio. Very much appreciate that.
