One New Year’s Eve

in a festive room where only gladness should bloom she sat feeling gloom there was mistletoe in the doorway hanging low . . . she got up to go as she reached the door a man no one could ignore touched her to the core the most handsome man the sad girl had ever seen stood in front of her as both of them stood underneath the mistletoe the man acted fast he kissed the girl’s mouth - a prelude to what would be her happiest year

Youv inspired me to try this contest sweet andrea, how seamlessly yours flow, brilliant storytelling while sticking also to syllables plus rhymes and not rhyming too towards the end, youv made it seem so easy to do, but im sure youv put alot of thought into presenting one that will be appealing for us all readers. You really are a gifted poet! And i admire your poetic prowess! Best wishes for the contest sweet andrea.
